Where The Strange Things Are…

It kills me to know how much of a procrastinator I am at times. I’ve known about this art exhibition from the first day it opened back in September and yet, I managed to wait until nearly the last day of October, to visit this ‘must-see’ art installation.Β Crazy right? I know, but hey, at least I was able to witness it before it was taken down yesterday.

Artist, Daniel Arsham created an inspiring installation, titled “CIRCA 2345” at Galerie Perrotin art gallery and to my surprise, this was actually his first solo exhibition in NYC ever. The first part of the gallery consisted of garment attire and sporting good pieces infused with “pure blue calcite crystals.” The crystals up-close guys areΒ stunning! I wanted to take one and keep it as a souvenir :- )

Further into the exhibition, was the big SHA-BAM! The artist describes “The Amethyst cavern” as the future, I on the other hand, felt like I just walked into an episode of “Stranger Things.” It was massive, innovative, and a mystical; something like Barney’s playhouse.

I loved everything about this installation and was glad I made the decision to get up out of my bed and into that exhibition.
